The Prox SX Prestia Light Hirame is a Japanese boat casting series made for hirame (Japanese flounder / flatfish) using live bait and lure presentations from an anchored or drifting vessel. The series is made for hirame specialists fishing from small boats in coastal waters, where sensitivity to bottom contact and the ability to detect passive bites on live sandlance or small fish is essential. The "light" designation places this within the lighter sub-category of hirame boat rod design.

Both models use a 2-piece construction with a carbon solid tip section (97% carbon content) offering direct tactile feedback without the sag or lag of a hollow tip. The cross-wound X-SHAFT construction reinforces the blank from butt to grip for sensitivity combined with backbone adequate to control large flatfish. A PTS baitcasting reel seat is fitted for reduced weight and improved blank-to-hand contact. The action is described as 7:3 (tip-flex), high-response for lure and bait work where immediate tip movement registers bites.

The lineup spans two lengths with stepped power: the 235M at 2.35m (approximately 7'9") in M power handles sinker loads of 10–60 号 (approximately 1.3–8oz), while the 245MH at 2.45m (approximately 8') in MH power handles 20–80 号 for heavier rigs, deeper water, or larger live baits. Both are casting (baitcasting) models. The series is sold primarily in the Japanese domestic market.

The MH-power 245MH adds length and backbone for deeper water hirame fishing or situations requiring heavier sinkers (20–80 号). The additional reach provides more leverage when working larger live baits at depth and when controlling heavy flatfish near the bottom.
