The B-BREAMER TZ is Tailwalk's flagship black sea bream (kurodai/chinu) rod series, built for the Japanese bottom-contact bream fishing technique known as chinning or bottom bream. Designed for free rigs and Texas rigs with 4-20g sinkers over rocky, complex structure. The target angler is an experienced bream specialist requiring maximum bite detection over clean-water bottoms. The blank uses 40-ton high-modulus carbon compressed with micro-pitch manufacturing for strength-to-weight optimization.
The series-defining feature is a short, thick titanium solid tip (TISL designation) that amplifies vibration from bottom structure and subtle bites, transmitting clearly to the hand. All guides use Fuji Torzite ring inserts in titanium frames, the lightest and most line-friendly guide system in Fuji's lineup. An end-cap balancer compensates for tip-heavy tendency common in long titanium-frame rods. Two-rod lineup: a 7'7" M-power casting model (C77M/TISL, lures 1/8-11/16oz) and a 7' ML-power spinning model (S70ML/TISL, lures 3/32-5/8oz).
The casting model suits anglers using baitcasting tackle for close-range bottom work; the spinning model provides wider casting range and lighter presentation reach.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Spinning format drops to ML power and lure floor of 3/32oz, enabling the lightest free-rig presentations. Better suited for covering open-water bream flats where casting distance and light sinker work are priorities.
Baitcasting format for vertical or short-range bottom presentations. M power and 7'7" length provide enough sweep for solid hooksets while maintaining the blank sensitivity needed to feel free-rig contact.
