The Tailwalk DAGEKI is a Japanese JDM spinning rod series originally developed for domestic light saltwater applications, primarily rock fishing (rockfish, sea bass, mackerel) and predator lure fishing, and subsequently distributed internationally for European pikeperch, zander, and pike fishing. All 13 models are spinning rods with regular (R) action, an unusual consistent choice that reflects the series' emphasis on lure animation during the retrieve and shock absorption during the fight instead of fast hooksets. Line ratings run 4-25lb; powers range from L through MH.
Blanks are equipped with Fuji Alconite ring guides and a Fuji VSS reel seat throughout. The R (regular/moderate) action profile creates a lively, loading-tip sensation that enhances soft plastic and metal jig animation, a hallmark of Japanese rock and light saltwater rod design. The blank construction is described as sensitive with strong backbone behind the tip. Grip material is standard EVA or cork (varies by retailer description); construction quality is consistent with Tailwalk's mid-price JDM positioning. Thirteen spinning models span 6'7" to 9'2".
The shortest models (S672M, S672MH) sit at 6'7" for boat or close-quarters rock ledge work. The series scales through 7'–8'2" in consistent power/length increments, then extends to 8'6", 8'8", 9', and 9'2" at MH power only, the longer lengths trading placement precision for added casting distance on surf-adjacent shore setups. The S762L and S762ML at 7'6" provide lighter-power options for finesse rockfish and smaller predators.

A closer look at notable models.
Lightest model in the lineup; L power and 4-10lb with 1/16-3/8oz for finesse rockfish, small perch, or trout on micro-soft plastics and light metal jigs. The regular action provides lure animation even at minimal retrieve speeds.
One of two models without a listed lure weight; 8'2" M on 8-16lb for mid-range shore casting. The absent lure spec may reflect a catalog omission instead of a design distinction from the adjacent S822MH.
Longest model at 9'2" MH; targeted at surf or long-range rock-casting scenarios where casting distance is needed for larger predators. The regular action still applies at this length, requiring controlled casting form.
