The Tailwalk CRIMSON serves the multi-species saltwater lure angler, primarily European sea bass, black seabream, Japanese seabass, and similar inshore predators, but the range's breadth accommodates freshwater bass, trout, and opportunistic GT-adjacent species up to a moderate size. Designed under Tailwalk's concept of unifying diverse fishing contexts into a single cohesive platform, the CRIMSON suits anglers who rotate between estuary, rock mark, and open beach with lures from small minnows to heavier sandeels and swimbaits.
Blanks are mid-modulus carbon construction with an emphasis on torsional stiffness to transfer lure feedback cleanly. Two distinct action philosophies divide the lineup: F (Fast) models provide tip sensitivity suited to reading bottom contact, lure reaction, and subtle takes; R (Regular) models carry a parabolic bend appropriate for high-speed reaction baits, crankbaits, minnows, chatterbaits, and swimbaits. Models carrying a "-T" suffix are telescopic builds for anglers prioritizing pack-and-go access. Fuji guide components are standard across the series.
The 15-model lineup splits roughly into compact casting models (6'5"–7'5" baitcasting), mid-range casting (8'8"–10'6" for distance or boat use), and spinning models (7'6"–9'8") in both F and R tapers. The shorter casting models address accuracy presentations; longer casting entries push distance or handle heavier GT-adjacent scenarios. Spinning models from 8' to 9'8" cover everything from mid-range lure work to longer-range surf-adjacent casting.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Compact baitcasting entry for close-quarters work with lighter lures and reaction baits, crankbaits and minnows at shorter range. R action suits erratic high-speed retrieves.
Telescopic design in ML+ power gives anglers portability without sacrificing moderate crankbait and minnow capability. The -T suffix designates a fold-and-go build for travel or urban anglers.
Heaviest baitcasting model in the series. XH power handles large swimbaits, big plugs, or heavier GT-adjacent surface work at the upper end of what the CRIMSON platform covers.
Telescopic spinning option for light lure fishing. Combines the R action's crankbait/minnow bias with the portability of the -T format.
Fast-action spinning rod in MH provides the sensitivity needed for bottom contact and take detection when working heavier jigs or weighted soft plastics at moderate distances.
An independently reviewed model rated to 50g lure weight. The F taper provides direct feedback at this length for detecting structure hits and light take transmission on larger baits.
Long-range spinning rod in light power for smaller lures at distance. R action accommodates minnow or crankbait retrieves over a longer casting arc from beach or elevated positions.
Long casting baitcaster for distance work from shore or elevated rock marks. R action keeps recovery smooth during long retrieves of swimbaits and minnows at range.
Longest model in the lineup. Suited for open beach, jetty, or pier fishing where maximum casting distance matters more than close-range precision.
