BOAT AJIST SSD

The Tailwalk BOAT AJIST SSD is a boat-specific ajing series designed for the BACHICON (boat aji) style of fishing, where anglers target horse mackerel (aji) from anchored or drifting boats using jig heads, worm rigs, and light metal jigs. This contrasts with shore ajing and demands compact, sensitive rods that can work vertically or at low angles alongside the hull. The SSD designation (Solid Soft Dedicated) identifies the use of solid-carbon tips across the series.

All three models use high-elasticity carbon blanks with flexible solid tips that transmit even subtle aji strikes visually and tactually. Guide complement is stainless-frame SiC throughout for corrosion resistance in a saltwater boat environment. Construction is 2-piece with pack lengths under 110cm, allowing stowage in boat rod lockers. Weights are light, 85–104g, which is essential for the low-fatigue vertical jigging and rig manipulation typical of extended boat sessions.

The lineup mixes one casting and two spinning models across 6'8" and 7'0" lengths, all in M or MH power. The lone casting model (C68MH-K/SL) serves heavier BACHICON metal jigs; the spinning models (S70M-N/SL and S70MH-K/SL) handle worm and softer rig applications at slightly longer reach. Lure ranges are stated in grams (40–160g) which in context refers to standard aji-sized jig heads and metal jigs in the 1–5g range in Japanese notation, not heavy lures.
