Tailwalk EGIST TZ is a Japanese shore eging (squid jigging) spinning series at the upper tier of Tailwalk's eging lineup. "TZ" designates Fuji Torzite ring guides in titanium frames. The premium guide standard in Japanese eging. Prioritizing light weight and sensitivity. Anglers here are intermediate-to-experienced shore egists fishing jetties, rocky shores, and breakwaters. Blanks are high-elasticity carbon with a slim profile treated with MicroPitch Unsand finish for reduced weight and improved strength.

All models are two-piece except for the 76ML-P4 and 83M-P4 which are four-piece travel variants. Joints use C Cross carbon-tape reinforcement to maintain blank integrity without adding weight. Rod weights run 93–110g. Original grip design provides slip resistance; the 77M/TISL adds a titanium solid tip for dual-mode sensitivity (tactile hand feel and visible visual tip movement for detecting subtle strikes). Manufacturer comment from field staffer emphasizes slim blanks reducing wind resistance during casting and jerking.

Nine models, all spinning. Lengths range 7'6"–8'6"; powers split between ML (max 25g egi, max 3.5 size) and M (max 30g egi, max size 4). The ML models target standard eging; M models cover larger squid or situations requiring bigger egi. Four-piece models (76ML-P4, 83M-P4) duplicate the standard models' specs in travel format.

A closer look at notable models.

76ML-P4 Spinning · 7'6" · ML · R action

Four-piece travel variant at 7'6", closed length 61cm. Carries the same Fuji Torzite/titanium guide spec as the standard two-piece models with a minor weight penalty (104g vs. 95g for 77ML). Designed for anglers who travel to fishing spots and need compact packing.

77L Spinning · 7'7" · L · R action

The lightest model in the series at L power with max 21g lure and max 3.5 egi. Intended for made for small squid in tight situations where minimal rod mass and agile darting of small egi (size 2.5–3) is preferred. Lightest rod weight in the lineup at 93g.

77M/TISL Spinning · 7'7" · M

Only model with a titanium solid tip (TISL). The solid tip enables visual sensitivity. Tip movement visible at distance reveals tide shifts. And tactile sensitivity for detecting subtle small-squid takes. Action is EX Fast (not regular like other models), which sharpens tip response for this detection role.

86M Spinning · 8'6" · M · R action

Longest power model in the lineup at 8'6" M power, max 30g and max egi #4. The extra length aids distance casting for larger squid on open rocky shores or offshore jetties. Heaviest rod in the two-piece lineup at 105g.
