The HI-TIDE TZ is Tailwalk's premium saltwater lure series made for Japanese seabass (suzuki/shiirakawa), flathead, and light-to-medium shore species from surf, estuary, and rock platforms. It belongs to the TZ tier, Tailwalk's highest-spec conventional rod line. The primary technique is hard and soft lure casting from shore or wading, not jigging or boat work. The target angler is an experienced Japanese-style saltwater lure angler who demands high sensitivity alongside distance casting. The blank uses high-modulus graphite body material with a high-density solid carbon tip section for bite sensitivity and casting feel.
Torzite ring guides on titanium frames (Fuji SiC-S alternative) are among the lightest guide systems available and contribute to meaningful blank-through feel. The Fuji TVS reel seat completes the build. Tailwalk specifies the rod as unsanded finished blank for marginal weight reduction. These are one-piece or two-piece depending on model. Actions range from Fast to Regular (R), with the longer models tending toward Regular for loading under surf casting. Eight spinning models, Casting variants is absent.
Lengths run from 8'7" to 11', covering compact inshore/estuary work (8'7"–8'8") through medium surf (9'–9'8") to longer casting platforms (10'3"–11'). Powers run ML through XH. The longer XH and MH 11-foot models carry Regular action for deep loading on long casts. The 9'8" MH is listed at PE 1-2 (light line), suggesting finesse surf applications.

Shortest and lightest model, compact estuary and harbour seabass rod for smaller lures. Fast action suits sub-1 oz soft plastics and small hard lures in confined water.
M+ designation (between M and MH) is common in JDM spec sheets, sits between standard medium and medium-heavy, made for medium-weight hard lures and heavier soft plastics. Slightly stiffer than the S90ML for larger presentation lures.
Heaviest model in the series. XH power with Regular action for maximum casting range with large plugs and heavy metal lures in open surf. Serves larger coastal species, yellowtail, amberjack, larger seabass.
Regular (R) action at 11 feet is a distance-casting configuration, loading deep for maximum range under heavy surf. MH power keeps it usable with 1/2–1 3/4 oz lures instead of moving into pure heavy territory.
