L-JIGGYS SSD

The Tailwalk L-JIGGYS SSD is a light and super-light offshore jigging series from a Japanese specialty brand known for technique-specific rod development. Target applications are light jigging (LJ) and super-light jigging (SLJ) from a boat, typically over inshore or coastal structure made for amberjack, yellowtail, snapper, and similar mid-size species. The SSD designation (Super Solid Design) refers to the blank construction philosophy. The series suits anglers jigging with 40-150g jigs in the 20-100m range. The series divides into two distinct blank types. Tubular models (no FSL suffix, or suffix absent) are conventional hollow-tip construction for one-pitch and half-pitch jerk techniques requiring sharp, crisp jig action.

Full-solid models (FSL suffix) use Tailwalk's "1 & Half" construction, a long solid section from tip to mid-blank transitions into a tubular butt, producing a slower, softer action suited to fall-bait and slow-jig presentations that benefit from shock absorption. All models are 6'3"-6'4", consistent with Japanese light-jigging ergonomic conventions. Fuji SiC ring guides throughout. Components are kept minimal to reduce weight. Ten models divide into four casting (C prefix) and six spinning (S prefix), all at 6'3" or 6'4". Within casting: C630/FSL, C631/FSL, C632/FSL are full-solid variants; C633 is tubular.

Spinning: S631, S632, S632/FSL-Ne are 6'3"; S640/FSL, S6400/FSL, S64000/FSL are 6'4" full-solid spinning variants. The numeric suffix (630-640) indicates jig-weight range or model capacity, C630 handles lighter jigs, C633 heavier; the FSL-Ne variant adds a neon guide for low-light visibility. The three 6'4" FSL spinning models at identical length suggest subtle taper/power differentiation not fully reflected in available spec data.
