OUTBACK PUPPY

An ultra-compact telescopic rod engineered around extreme portability, the defining spec is a closed length of 18–22.5 cm, shorter than a 500 ml plastic bottle. The Outback Puppy serves opportunistic anglers who fish impulsively while traveling, commuting, or hiking, where carrying a conventional rod is impractical. Species range covers light freshwater (stream trout, small bass, perch) and light salt (ajing, mebaru, small rockfish). Lure range caps at 3–10g depending on model.

A trade-off tool. Three-part separation: blank, reel seat, and grip detach independently to achieve the 18 cm minimum. The blank section itself uses an ultra-micro-section telescopic design with a carbon solid tip (common in Japanese light game rods) to reduce tip-breakage risk, a known vulnerability in telescopic designs. Rod weight is 59–88g across the series. Six models in the full Tailwalk lineup (the batch lists five of the six). Three UL models (1–5g, max 6 lb) at 4'8", 5'0", and 5'8"; two L models (2–7g, max 8 lb) at 4'1" and 5'0"; one ML (3–10g, max 12 lb) at 6'2". Length and power increase together. The 4'1" L model achieves the minimum 18 cm closed length. All spinning.
