PADDLERNA

The Tailwalk PADDLERNA is a specialized kayak and SUP fishing rod series, shaped around the practical constraints of small-watercraft angling: portability, short-stroke casting, and safety. Three-piece construction collapses to a compact length for storage under a deck bungee or in a rod tube. The series serves soft-bait, light jigging, and inshore lure fishing from platforms where rod length and storage space are more limiting than casting distance. Target species are reef fish, trevally, snapper, and light inshore predators.

Each model features a telescoping rear grip section that extends approximately 3 inches, useful for absorbing the leverage of landing fish from a seated position. A D-ring near the butt section accepts a rod leash, a safety feature relevant when a wave or paddle strike could knock a rod overboard. Regular action throughout the series allows both horizontal casting and vertical jigging motions. Cork grip is standard. Blank construction details (modulus, taper) are unpublished.

Two spinning models only, differentiated by length and lure capacity: S56/59 at 5'6" (casting max 28 g, vertical max 60 g) and S62/65 at 6'2" (casting max 40 g, vertical max 100 g). The 56/59 suits lighter inshore and freshwater work from a kayak; the 62/65 handles heavier jigs and larger coastal species. Casting models is absent. The naming convention reflects the adjustable-length grip design (two positions per rod).
