SEALS X48 Kitamura Tuned
Tailwalk's 2026 revival of the SEALS X48 tai-jigging spinning rod under Hideyuki Kitamura's supervision: two 6'5" models rated to 120 and 150 g jigs
SEALS X48 Kitamura Tuned is Tailwalk's 2026 revival of the original SEALS X48, redesigned under the supervision of Hideyuki "Charmas" Kitamura, whose emblem sits on the logo silk. Both rods are 6'5" two-piece butt-joint spinning rods with a 148 cm closed length, built with Tailwalk's X48 Core construction: carbon tubular butt and belly sections and a tip that transitions from braided carbon into solid, giving a slim blank that Tailwalk describes as strong, torquey and sensitive at once. Guides are Fuji SiC throughout, the reel seat a Fuji VSS, and the finish a purple-to-blue colour shift.
The S651/XSL weighs 127 g and is rated to 120 g jigs, PE 1.5 and 2 kg of drag; the S652/XSL weighs 140 g and is rated to 150 g, PE 2 and 2.5 kg. Actions are fast to regular with a parabolic bend under load. Tailwalk aims them at spring red seabream jigging first, then light jigging for small and medium pelagics, seabass, tachiuo and rockfish. List prices are ¥32,000 and ¥33,000 before tax.
