The Tailwalk SILVERNA TAKI TZ New Gen is a flagship Japanese area trout competition rod series designed by and around tournament angler Shinichi Takizawa. Area trout fishing involves managed trout ponds, light lines (typically ester or fluorocarbon 2–4 lb), small metal spoons, crank-style micro plugs, and micro spinners. The series is built for tournament conditions where small presentation differences and bite detection determine the outcome. Not appropriate for stream or natural-water trout fishing, it is strictly an area/stocked-trout series.

Blanks use Toray T1100G carbon, a high-strength, high-modulus fiber allowing thin, lightweight blanks without brittleness. Fuji titanium-frame Torzite ring guides (TCH USKSS reel seat) set this at the upper tier of area trout rod components, Torzite is Fuji's lightest, smoothest insert and significantly reduces friction on fine ester lines. The S59XUL/TISL model features a titanium-solid composite tip (TIS = titanium inner solid), a distinct construction that blends a titanium wire inner section with the carbon blank for near-zero tip weight and maximum bite transmission.

All models are spinning, two-piece, with published rod weights around 50–80 g. Four models cover a narrow length range from 5'5" to 6'1", characteristic of area trout rods where pond size constrains optimal length. Power runs XUL to ML: S59XUL/TISL (5'9", XUL, S) is the titanium-tip extreme-light model; S55L+/SSL (5'5") is the shortest, lightest standard model; S61UL (6'1", UL, R) is the longest and most forgiving; S510ML (5'10", ML, R) is the stiffest, suited to bottom plugs and metal vibes on heavier line.

A closer look at notable models.

S59XUL/TISL Spinning · 5'9" · XUL · S action

Titanium inner-solid (TIS) tip is the technical highlight of this model. The hybrid tip approaches zero weight and maximum deflection sensitivity for detecting the faintest short-bite on micro spoons. Slow action paired with XUL power is intentional, not for fast retrieves.

S510ML Spinning · 5'10" · ML · R action

Stiffest model in the series. ML power and Regular action make it the pick for PE-line setups with metal vibes or bottom-rolling cranks that need more direct force transfer instead of a soft-tip presentation.
