SLOW BUMP SD
Tailwalk's 2026 slow-jigging conventional series: six 6'2" two-piece rods, three tubular and three 24-ton full-solid, rated to 230, 300 and 400 g jigs
SLOW BUMP SD is Tailwalk's 2026 slow-jigging series, positioned as the practical, hard-wearing member of the Slow Bump family next to the SSD, TZ and MPG. All six rods are 6'2" two-piece butt-joint conventionals with a 142 cm closed length, regular action, Fuji SiC guides and a Fuji TCS reel seat. Tailwalk's long flat rear grip is meant to keep the fulcrum steady through continuous jerking, and the blanks are built to cast sharply and hold up at high drag settings.
The three tubular models (622, 623, 624) blend 24- to 40-ton carbon for crisp jig response and weigh 134 to 152 g; their full-solid FSL counterparts use a 24-ton carbon full-solid blank with a spiral guide layout whose twist finishes in the stronger butt section (Tailwalk's Quick Turn Spiral System), bend deeper and weigh 159 to 179 g. Jig ratings are 230 g max and PE 2 (622), 300 g and PE 2.5 (623) and 400 g and PE 3 (624); maximum drag runs 3.5 to 6.5 kg. Tailwalk names yellowtail-class pelagics, rockfish, akamutsu, tachiuo, red seabream and, on the 624/FSL, tuna. List prices are ¥34,000 to ¥39,000 before tax.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 6 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
