The Tai Game BM is Tailwalk's entry-level series within the Tai Rubber (taira) vertical jigging category, made for madai (red sea bream) and related offshore reef species from a boat. "BM" places it as the baseline version below the TZ and SSD tiers. The series uses a mid-modulus carbon blank with X-wrapping carbon reinforcement to reduce blank twist under load, relevant when a fish runs hard and the angler must maintain torsional control over a slow-action deep jig rod.
It is built for Japanese-style tai rubber fishing from drift boats over reef structures. The blank is tubular construction with a slow action profile that flexes parabolically, allowing the tai rubber jig to flutter and pulse on the drop and retrieve. Tailwalk's Z-Shape reel seat provides a contoured grip for baitcasting reels common in this technique. Fuji guides with SiC and Alconite rings are fitted; guide type (titanium vs. Stainless) is not confirmed for this entry-level series.
Rod weights of approximately 106–108 g are light for an offshore baitcasting rod, aiding jigging endurance over a full fishing day. Two models only, both 6'5" baitcasting with slow action: C65UL (lure max 180 g, PE max 1.0, rod weight 106 g) and C65L (lure max 200 g, PE max 1.0, rod weight 108 g). The difference is incremental, L handles slightly heavier jigs and is marginally stiffer.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Slightly stouter model: lure max 200 g. Suited for slightly deeper water or heavier tai rubber jigs when current or depth requires more weight to maintain bottom contact.
Lighter build: lure max 180 g, rod weight 106 g. Preferred for shallower reef structures and lighter jig presentations where finesse translates to more bites from cautious madai.
