The Tailwalk Tai Game SD is a JDM baitcasting series built for tai-rubber (madai rubber) fishing, a Japanese boat technique that vertically presents a rubber octopus rig on a lead head for red seabream (madai) and incidentally other bottom-feeding species. Target angler is the boat tai-rubber specialist who fishes at varying depths from an anchored or drifting vessel. The series name SD stands for 'Solid-Double,' referencing the hybrid blank construction. Not suitable for casting lures or surf applications.

The blank uses a 24T carbon full-solid tip and belly section bonded to a glass composite tubular butt, a center-cut two-piece design. The solid tip absorbs sudden head-shaking surges from red seabream without the stiffness that would cause hook pulls, while the glass composite butt delivers resilience under sustained pressure. A Fuji PULS reel seat accommodates a wide range of palming styles. All five models are baitcasting (LSL = long straight lever seat) with Slow action, meaning the blank loads deep through the butt, appropriate for absorbing runs instead of quick hooksets.

Lure ratings are high (200–300 g range implied) because the tai-rubber technique uses heavy lead heads. Five casting models span 5'10"–6'7". The two 5'10" models (C510XUL and C510UL) are lighter-power options for shallow-water or finer-touch presentations. The three 6'7" models cover the main depth range with UL (C67UL), L (C67L), and M (C67M) power, stepping up as lead weight and depth increase. All are two-piece with Slow action.

A closer look at notable models.

C510XUL/LSL Casting · 5'10" · XUL · S action

Lightest-rated model at XUL power, suited for shallow-water tai-rubber fishing with the lightest available lead heads where a more sensitive tip improves detection of subtle bites in controlled depth.

C67M/LSL Casting · 6'7" · M · S action

Heaviest-rated model in the series. The M power 6'7" blank handles the deepest water and heaviest lead heads in the tai-rubber technique, where load on the blank is substantial during retrieve from depth.
