Carbon Catfish Spinning Rod

The Ugly Stik Carbon Catfish Spinning series upgrades the standard Catfish Spinning rod with a 100% 24-ton graphite blank, transitioning from the hybrid graphite/fiberglass Ugly Tech construction to a full-carbon build. The result is a claimed 50% strength improvement and 30% weight reduction over the standard line. Target use: channel and flathead catfishing in rivers and reservoirs, with the 9'6" H model extending reach into larger impoundments and heavier-line applications.

Minimum line rating is 15 lb. Construction retains the one-piece stainless Ugly Tuff guides for durability and an oversized golf-style foregrip, a catfish-specific ergonomic detail that aids grip when fighting large fish. The clear tip is replaced in this series by a solid graphite tip (not the classic clear tip). Full EVA shrink tube rear grip. The 7-year warranty is shorter than the standard Catfish rod's 10-year coverage, a trade-off with the carbon blank.

Three models: two 7'6" MH/M (single-piece 761 and two-piece 762) and one 9'6" H/M two-piece. The 7'6" pair covers standard river and lake catfishing; the 9'6" H significantly escalates power and reach for large-water work up to 50 lb line, a different animal suited to serious trophy flathead or blue cat hunting. The moderate action on all three aids fish absorption over the stiffer MF of the standard series.
