A specialized shore/bank catfishing spinning rod using Ugly Stik's fiberglass-graphite composite (Ugly Tech) construction. Made for anglers fishing from banks, shores, and dams, situations where spinning tackle is preferred for ease of casting heavy bait rigs, managing line, and fighting fish on a long rod. MH power throughout on 10–40 lb line. The moderate action and Clear Tip design provide sensitivity for detecting bites while maintaining durability under sustained load from large catfish.

Ugly Tech construction blends graphite and fiberglass for a durable, moderately sensitive blank. One-piece Ugly Tuff stainless guides resist insert pop-outs common with cheaper catfish rod guides. Shrink-wrapped rubberized full grip handles provide wet-weather grip. Clear Tip adds extra flex at the tip to telegraph light strikes. This is the more traditional, heavier-duty counterpart to the Carbon series, not as light, but established as nearly indestructible.

The 7' and 8' models rate 10–30 lb; the 9' through 12' step up to 15–40 lb as the longer blanks handle heavier rigs. The 10' and 12' models are clearly built for extended bank-fishing or dam fishing where distance and leverage matter.
