The Ugly Stik Elite Salmon/Steelhead Spinning Rod is specialized for Pacific Northwest and Great Lakes salmon and steelhead presentations, drift fishing, float fishing, and light river casting. Anglers here are river-bank and wade fishers who need a durable, moderately sensitive rod without premium-blank cost. Carries a 10-year warranty and is sold as a value-tier river-specialist instead of a do-all spinning rod. Construction uses Ugly Tech, a graphite-fiberglass hybrid that Pure Fishing claims delivers 35% more graphite content than the GX2 line.
The result is reduced weight versus the baseline Ugly Stik while preserving impact resistance. Ugly Tuff 1-piece stainless steel guides are corrosion-resistant and eliminate insert pop-out. Clear Tip design retains the brand's signature fiberglass tip section for fish-fighting flex. Premium cork handles on this series instead of EVA. Two-piece design on most models for transport. Five spinning models span 7'6"–10'. Powers run M to MH; line ratings 8–25 lb.
The 7'6" XF model is the quickest-responding piece for twitching presentations and is the only single-piece offering. The two-piece 8'6" MH covers heavier steelhead or Chinook runs. The 9', 9'6", and 10' M models give progressively greater reach for float or side-drifting in wider flows. Casting models in this series is absent.
