Built for bottom jigging and vertical presentations made for large, hard-pulling saltwater species, grouper, amberjack, snapper, halibut, in deep water with heavy iron. Suited to boat anglers who need abrasion resistance and lifting power over finesse. Line ratings of 50–200lb cover conventional and braid setups for offshore work; outside the casting-distance or sensitivity-focused rod lane.
Ugly Tech construction blends graphite and fiberglass for a blank that resists breakage under sustained pressure. Ugly Tuff one-piece stainless guides are corrosion-resistant and eliminate insert pop-outs, a practical choice for saltwater use without premium guide hardware. Clear Tip fiberglass tip adds durability at the tip end. The two-model lineup spans H and XH power to cover different depth and weight scenarios.
Both models are 2-piece casting rods. The 5'8" XH handles heavier jigs and heavier line (100–200lb) for deep, demanding conditions; the 6'3" H is rated 50–100lb and gives anglers slightly more length and a softer feel for moderate-depth jigging. Neither model is intended for topwater or finesse work.

A closer look at notable models.
Short, stout extra-heavy blank rated to 200lb. Optimized for deep vertical jigging with very heavy iron, where shorter length aids leverage from a fighting belt or rod holder. Appropriate for halibut, large AJ, and similar boat fisheries.
Slightly longer and more moderate-rated than the XH sibling. Covers mid-depth jigging and bottom fishing where 50–100lb braid is standard, with enough flex to absorb head shakes from grouper and snapper.
