2026 Procyon Inshore

The Daiwa 2026 Procyon Inshore is a mid-tier saltwater rod series made for inshore species, redfish, speckled trout, flounder, snook, and similar coastal gamefish. It positions between Daiwa's entry-level Coastal and upper-tier Tatula/Saltist lines. The target angler fishes inshore flats, marshes, and nearshore structure regularly and wants technology-informed performance without premium pricing. Blanks use Daiwa's HVF NANOPLUS graphite, which combines nano alloy resin with high-density graphite fiber to reduce resin volume, yielding a lighter, stiffer blank than standard HVF.

X45 Bias Construction adds carbon fiber at 45-degree angles to resist blank twist under load, improving casting accuracy and power transfer. Guides are Fuji braid-ready, handling PE and fluorocarbon equally. Cork handles throughout. The combination of HVF NANOPLUS and X45 is the same construction found in higher-end Daiwa inshore rods, making the Procyon Inshore a notable value proposition. All six current models are spinning at 7', split across three power ratings (ML, M, MH), each offered in both a butt-joint casting format (FB suffix) and a standard spinning format (FS suffix).

The FB/FS split allows anglers to choose rod blank + handle configuration while using the same blank, or suggests two distinct handle assemblies with the same blank. Line ranges from 6-12lb (ML) to 12-20lb (MH), lure from 1/8-1/2oz to 1/4-1oz.
