The Daiwa 24 Kage Premium Bass is a technique-specific tournament-class bass rod series using Daiwa's SVF NanoPlus blank technology, high-fiber, low-resin construction that produces a lighter and stiffer blank compared to standard graphite. The series also incorporates X45 carbon bias weave for torsional stiffness and an Air Sensor carbon fiber reel seat for weight reduction. Components include Fuji Alconite guides. At $259.99 MSRP, it serves serious recreational and tournament bass anglers who are willing to pay for technique optimization.
Each model has a specific presentation application written into its power, action, and length combination. Notable technical features include the prevalence of R-action (regular/parabolic) rods, unusual in bass lineups, which are appropriate for braid-and-leader jig fishing where the rod loads deeply and protects the hook set. XF action models appear across both spinning and casting. The lineup runs heavily toward casting rods (16 of 18 models), with only 2 spinning rods, reflecting the bass tournament casting emphasis.
Most models are casting-oriented at 7' and above. Lengths span 6'8" to 8'. One of only two spinning rods in an otherwise casting-dominant lineup. L/XF on light line suggests drop-shot and finesse presentations requiring maximum sensitivity on spinning gear.
MH/XF action is the workhorse finesse casting combination, suited for swim jigs, bladed jigs, and larger soft plastics on fluorocarbon where tip sensitivity and backbone both matter.
H power / XF action at 30-65 lb line, built for mat punching on braid. The XF tip transfers energy through heavy vegetation while the backbone drives hooks home.
7'10" XH in R action: long-reach jig rod for pitching heavy jigs and bladed jigs into distant serves. The regular action loads fully for longer pitches and absorbs shock on the hookset.
The hardest-use rod in the series, XXH power at 8' for heavy swimbait or punching applications on 30-65 lb braid. A specialty tool with a narrow use case, outside the general-purpose casting rod lane.
