The 24 Saltiga Light Jigging series is a dedicated vertical jigging line made for offshore bottom species in moderate depths, roughly 50–300 feet. Typical serves include tilefish, grouper, snapper, lingcod, rockfish, and pelagics that respond to metal jigs in the 100–160 gram range. It fills the space between jigging rods rated for slow-pitch work and the heavy conventional Saltiga Boat Jigging rods; this series is built for the angler who jigs a step above finesse but does not need the full Saltiga offshore setup. The defining construction choice is Daiwa's MegaTop solid pultruded carbon tip, which runs the full length of the blank.

Solid-carbon blanks resist ovalizing under load and provide consistent bend curve without the soft zones common in tubular tip sections. X45 carbon fiber wrapping reduces twist during the fight. Fuji K guides with titanium frames and SIC rings handle PE 0.8–1.5 braid comfortably. Two power steps (M and MH) are available in both baitcast (B suffix) and spinning (S suffix) formats. Braid-to-PE rating is consistent across the series at PE 0.8–1.5, confirming the light-jigging scope. Four models split evenly: two 6'2" conventional (B-suffix) and two 6'6" spinning (S-suffix).

Within each format, M and MH power options cover the range from lighter 100g jigs to the 160g max. The 6'2" baitcast format suits high-speed reel-up jigging with conventional reels; the 6'6" spinning format accommodates pitch-and-fall presentations with longer rod stroke. No significant length difference between the formats, both are compact for boat use.

SGLJ62MB Casting · 6'2" · M · R action

The entry M-power conventional model. Regular action with solid MegaTop blank handles 100–160g jigs on PE 0.8–1.5. Suited for high-speed conventional retrieve on tilefish and snapper grounds. Compact 6'2" length works in rod holders.

SGLJ66MHS Spinning · 6'6" · MH · R action

MH-power spinning version for those who prefer a longer stroke and spinning reel. The extra 4" compared to the B models provides more sweep on the jig fall. Covers heavier jigs up to 160g in the spinning format.
