The Daiwa 24 Zillion is a mid-premium bass rod positioned below the Steez and above the Tatula in Daiwa's US freshwater lineup. It serves serious bass anglers who want most of the construction technology of the Steez at a moderate premium price ($399 MSRP). The rod covers the full range of freshwater bass techniques including finesse spinning, reaction-bait casting, flipping, and heavy-cover work. Blanks use SVF Nanoplus graphite with X45 bias construction. Models designated -FL use FLEX LITE, Daiwa's SVF glass technology that approximates the parabolic feel of fiberglass at reduced weight, intended for moving baits with treble hooks.

The Air Sensor reel seat minimizes hand-to-seat contact to improve blank vibration transmission. Fuji Alconite rings in K-guide frames handle line management. Handle is cork. The Carbon MQ Grip on some models is a molded carbon fiber butt section that reduces overall blank weight while preserving feedback. 5-year limited warranty. The 16-model lineup spans 6'6" to 7'9" in both casting (11 models) and spinning (5 models). Four models carry the -FL designation for reaction-bait applications. Three FL models share M or ML/regular action in the 6'8"–7' range; one 7'3" model (ZLON731MFS) is a spinning M/moderate for finesse reaction work.

The spinning models collectively handle 3–10 lb line for finesse through 7'6" ML for light versatile casting. A single 7'9" XH/regular casting model handles heavy-cover and big-swim applications.

A closer look at notable models.

ZLON661MXBC29 Casting · 6'6" · M · XF action

The C29 suffix likely denotes a 29-inch handle or a casting competition variant. At 6'6" M/XF with no FL designation, this is a standard graphite finesse-to-mid-range casting rod, drop shot, shaky head, or light jigs.

ZLON681MRB-FL Casting · 6'8" · ML · R action

FLEX LITE casting model at 6'8" ML/regular action. The glass-influenced blank in a shorter length suits medium-running crankbaits, small squarebills, and bladed jigs at close-to-mid range where a softer tip keeps treble hooks pinned.

ZLON731MFS Spinning · 7'3" · M · M action

The lone moderate-action spinning model. Medium taper and 3–10 lb line point to finesse reaction-bait spinning, small inline spinners, swimbaits, or drop shot on lighter line where the softer action protects light line on the hook-set.

ZLON791HRB Casting · 7'9" · H · R action

The longest and heaviest rod in the lineup with no listed lure weight. At 7'9" H/regular and 15–40 lb, this is likely a big-bait swimbait or heavy-cover punching rod where line class instead of lure weight defines the application.
