25 Presso Air Ags

The 25 Presso Air AGS is Daiwa's flagship ultralight freshwater rod series, made for trout and panfish anglers who prioritize minimum weight, maximum sensitivity, and delicate presentation. It carries the premium-tier SVF Nanoplus blank technology and the AGS (Air Guide System) carbon-fiber guides, the same guide system used on higher-end Japanese tournament rods. At $399.99 MSRP it is priced well above utilitarian trout rods. The target angler fishes finesse techniques for stream trout, stocked-lake trout, and possibly light inshore species.

SVF Nanoplus starts from ultra-dense graphite fiber with minimal resin content, producing light, thin-walled blanks with high recovery speed. AGS guides reduce guide weight to nearly nothing and are claimed to amplify vibration transmission compared to metal frames. The lower grip uses Daiwa's Carbon MQ handle instead of conventional cork or EVA, saving additional grams. X45 bias wrap reduces torsional flex during cast and hook-set. Japanese Burlwood reel seat on at least some models. Eight models run 6'6" to 8', predominantly spinning (seven models) with one casting rod (PRAGS681LRB at 6'8").

Powers are UL and L throughout, no M or above. Actions range F, XF, and R (Regular). The 8' L-power model with Regular action is specialized for long-distance finesse work such as river drifting; the 6'6"–7' UL/F models are short-range stream rods; the 7'6" XF provides a fast tip for micro-jig and hard-bait snap work.
