The Daiwa 25 Saltiga Casting is a 2025-generation offshore saltwater rod series positioned at the top of Daiwa's boat fishing lineup for made for large pelagic species. Based on the Saltiga flagship identity, it pairs with high-capacity spinning and conventional reels for jigging, casting large plugs, and live-bait work. Target species: amberjack, tuna, grouper, and other heavy offshore fish from boats. The "Casting" designation distinguishes the series from the parallel slow-pitch jigging and conventional jigging Saltiga sub-lines.
The blanks use HVF Nanoplus graphite with X45 bias wrap construction. Features consistent across 2025 Saltiga rod products. Which minimises blank ovalization under load and reduces weight relative to equivalent-power blanks. Fuji K-frame SiC guides handle heavy braid. Note: the model designation prefix "SGC" and the listed specs indicate spinning-style setup (spinning reel seat) despite the series name "Casting." The 7'11" XH model uses an R (regular) action for heavy vertical applications; the 8'2" H and MH models use a fast (F) action for casting and surface presentation.
Confirmed per-model specs are derived from the Daiwa US product page. Three models, all in the 7'11"–8'2" length range. Power splits from MH through XH. Fast action on the two 8'2" rods prioritizes responsiveness on long casts; the 7'11" XH at R action is better suited to slow pitch or heavy vertical jigging. No conventional/overhead reel seat variants visible in this three-rod listing.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
The XH regular-action rod in the lineup. R (regular) action bends deeper into the blank, making it suitable for slow-pitch style work or sustained fights against large fish. Less suited to long overhead casting than the F-action siblings.
Mid-power 8'2" fast-action model. Balanced for casting large offshore plugs or live bait presentations while retaining sufficient backbone for H-class fights. Likely the most versatile rod in the trio.
