The 25 Tatula Cork is Daiwa's 2025 update to its technique-specific bass rod lineup, based on SVF (Super Volume Fiber) graphite with X45 bias construction. SVF uses less resin than standard graphite layups, resulting in a lighter blank without reducing strength; X45 wraps fiber layers at crossing 45-degree angles to reduce blank twist under load and improve casting accuracy. Daiwa claims the 2025 version is 14% lighter than the previous generation. The series includes two Glatech fiberglass-construction models for techniques that benefit from a softer, more parabolic blank.

Fuji O-concept guides are used throughout, with deep-pressed aluminum oxide rings specified for braid-to-leader connection clearance. Custom Tatula reel seats are designed to reduce wrist and arm fatigue during repetitive casting. Cork grips are standard on all models. The "R" action designation appearing on several models refers to a regular (moderate) action tuned for cranking and swimbaiting, where blank compression on hook sets is desirable instead of a liability. The 23-model lineup covers 6'8"–7'9" in both spinning ("S" suffix) and casting ("B" suffix) configurations.

The lineup is organized by technique: R-action casting rods for moving baits and cranks, XF-action spinning rods for finesse, F-action casting rods for jigs and Texas rigs, and H-power casting rods for punching and flipping. The TTUL701MMHRB-G casting model carries a G suffix showing the Glatech fiberglass blank variant.

Deeper Dive

A closer look at notable models.

TTUL6101LRB Casting · 6'10" · L · R action

L-power regular-action casting rod is an unusual combination made for finesse moving baits. Small squarebills, micro cranks, and inline spinners. On light line where a heavy-action rod would load incorrectly.

TTUL701MMHRB-G Casting · 7' · MH · R action

The G suffix designates Glatech fiberglass blank construction. MH/regular action on a glass blank produces the parabolic load profile suited to crankbaits and swimbaits. Keeps treble hooks pinned during the fight without pulling them free.

TTUL761MLMFS Spinning · 7'6" · ML · F action

The "MF" embedded in the model code alongside F in the lineup suggests this is a medium-fast variant within the ML spinning tier. Bridging standard finesse and neko/wacky rig applications at extended range.

TTUL791HRB Casting · 7'9" · H · R action

Longest model at 7'9" H with regular action and lure ceiling of 3oz. Built for large swimbaits and umbrella rigs where the softer load arc keeps hooks buried and the length provides leverage during retrieves.

TTUL711MLFS Spinning · 7'11" · ML · F action

Longest spinning model at 7'11" ML/F, pushing toward finesse drop shot and shaky head at longer distances. Useful on clear-water fisheries where keeping distance from fish is necessary.
