The Daiwa Accudepth Trolling is Daiwa's specialized freshwater trolling rod series, designed to pair with Accudepth line counter reels for salmon, steelhead, and walleye trolling on the Great Lakes, large inland lakes, and rivers. The series covers multiple trolling methods: standard downrigger trolling, dipsy diver trolling, leadcore/copper line trolling, and planer board applications. All 13 models are casting/conventional rods. Blanks are graphite composite with slow or regular (moderate) action, the slow action is standard for most downrigger and dipsy models, absorbing rod-tip bouncing and providing the spring-loaded bite detection that trolling demands.

Hardware includes aluminum oxide guides rated as cut-proof, and Air Foam grips for extended-use comfort. The ACDDR prefix denotes the standard downrigger/dipsy series; the ACDLC prefix (two models) indicates leadcore-rated heavier blank construction; the ACDPB prefix (two models) identifies the planer board specialized rods with fast action and lure ratings more typical of casting applications. The 13 models range 6'–10'6". The standard ACDDR downtrigger/dipsy models run 7'–9'6", covering ML through MH power with slow action.

The 10'6" model (ACDDR1062H) and 9'6" dipsy model (ACDDR962H) are heavy-power regular-action rods for large-lure and deep dipsy applications. The two ACDLC models at 6'–6'6" are short, heavy (H power, 20–40 lb) leadcore sticks. The ACDPB planer board models at 7'10" and 8'6" are fast action, 10–20 lb, with 1/4–1 oz lure ratings, distinct from the other trolling models.

A closer look at notable models.

ACDLC601HRB Casting · 6' · H · R action

Short leadcore trolling rod at 6', H power, regular action. Leadcore rods are kept short to manage the weight and sink profile of lead-core line, the stiff butt and moderate regular action handle the heavy line while a matched line counter reel tracks depth by core colors.

ACDLC661HRB Casting · 6'6" · H · R action

Second leadcore rod, 6" longer than the 601. Slightly more leverage for fighting large fish on heavy leadcore. Both ACDLC models use regular action to handle the inertia of weighty leadcore rigs at trolling speeds.

ACDPB710TMHFB Casting · 7'10" · MH · F action

Planer board rod with fast action and lure weight rating, distinct from the slow-action downtrigger rods. The fast action and 1/4–1 oz lure range suit active lure presentations deployed off in-line planers for walleye and trout.

ACDDR962H Casting · 9'6" · H · R action

Heavy dipsy diver rod at 9'6". Regular action handles the resistance of a large dipsy disk at depth. H power and 12–30 lb line manage large attractors and bait rigs trolled behind deep-diving divers for offshore Great Lakes chinook salmon.

ACDDR1062H Casting · 10'6" · H · R action

Longest rod in the series at 10'6", H power regular action. The extended length is used in planer board or flat-line setups to keep lines spread laterally and reduce crossing. Also used with large stick baits trolled behind boards on the Great Lakes.
