Ardito Surf

The Daiwa Ardito Surf Travel Rod series addresses the logistical problem of transporting surf rods, long enough to be effective on open beach, but impossible to check on most airlines. Both models are 11-foot five-piece spinning rods that pack down to approximately 31 inches, fitting in luggage or a carry-on-sized rod bag. The target angler is a surf or beach angler who travels to fishing destinations and cannot transport conventional one-piece or two-piece surf sticks.

Blanks use X-45 bias-fiber construction to reduce blank twist during casting and fighting, and are fitted with Fuji Aluminum Oxide Low Rider guides for smooth line flow during long casts. V-Flex Ferrule joints distribute bend load across the connection points, reducing the dead-spot feel that afflicts lesser multi-piece surf rods. The rods break down into a soft travel case measuring approximately 31 x 6 x 3 inches. The two models share the same 11-foot length and five-section design, differing only in power rating.

The ARDT1105MFS-TR is Medium power rated for 2-6 oz lures and 15-25 lb line, better suited to lighter surf presentations, smaller surf species, and beach fishing with 2-4 oz sinkers. The ARDT1105MHFS-TR is Medium-Heavy rated for 3-8 oz lures and 15-30 lb line, better suited to larger sinkers, heavier bait rigs, and bigger surf species where additional backbone is needed.
