The Daiwa Crossfire is an entry-level freshwater all-rounder made for anglers who want broad coverage without spending much. It handles general bass and panfish duties, casting and retrieving lures in the 1/16 to 1 oz range, and covers light trout work with the 5'6" UL model. Blank is graphite (IM-6 class based on Daiwa's US positioning and the $39.99 MSRP tier), paired with aluminum oxide ring guides and split EVA foam grips.
Construction is straightforward with no stated specialty technologies. The lineup is consistent in fast action across all 18 rods, which makes sense for a general-purpose casting and presentation rod at this price. The 18-rod lineup covers 3' to 7'3", spanning UL through MH power, with both spinning and casting configurations. Short 3' pistol-grip models (CFF301) appear built for close-quarters dock fishing or ice-adjacent use.
The majority cluster at 6'6" to 7' in M and MH power, the bread-and-butter freshwater range. Only one spinning rod exceeds M power (CFF661MHFS); the heavier MH and the 7'3" capper are casting-only.
