Dragger EX is the new flagship tier of Daiwa's Dragger shore-casting ladder, positioned above the X, MX and SX lines and announced for October 2026. The three models are three-piece builds from 9'1" to 9'8", packing to 101-106 cm on V-Joint alpha joints with 99% carbon blanks, and each carries twin ratings: plugs from 50 g up to 280 g on the heaviest model, and jigs to 200 g, on PE 4-10. Daiwa positions the series for the largest fish reachable from shore - rock-and-headland hiramasa and tuna-class targets - and every model was developed under field tester Ryota Segawa. At 400 g per rod and MSRP of 112,000-115,000 yen, this is deliberate big-game tackle, not a general shore-jigging line.
The ladder inside the series is power, not length: 98HH takes small-to-standard diving pencils at distance, 93XH is the all-round core rated for the widest plug window, and 91XXH is the big-bait power model for 30 cm-class plugs.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 3 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
