The Daiwa Elev8 Jigging series is a slow-pitch / slow-fall jigging casting rod lineup designed for bottom fish, primarily rockfish, snapper, fluke, and similar species over structures at depth. All three models share 7'10" length and extra-fast action; power differentiates them. The rods were developed alongside Daiwa's Rock Rover jig series, confirming the slow-pitch jigging focus. Blanks use Daiwa's X-45 Bias Construction, carbon fibers laid at 45-degree bias angles to resist torsional twist during the lift-fall cadence of slow jigging.

Glatech composite technology adds durability for the sustained loading these rods endure when fighting bottom fish from depth. Guides are Fuji Tangle-Free K-Guides with FazLite rings, which reduce friction on the heavy braid lines typical of this technique. A movable hook keeper band accommodates large jig hook assemblies. Retail price is $169 per rod, mid-tier for dedicated jigging rods. The three models are differentiated solely by line capacity and power: M (15–40 lb), MH (20–50 lb), H (30–65 lb).

Length is fixed at 7'10" and action at XF across all three. The heavy braid line ratings and XF action reflect slow-pitch technique requirements: the extra-fast tip loads quickly on the upstroke and releases cleanly on the drop, triggering the jig's flutter. The M model suits shallower water jigging; H model serves deeper or heavier structure.

EV710HXB Casting · 7'10" · H · XF action

Heaviest model, 30–65 lb line suits deep-water rockfish situations (200+ ft) where heavy PE braid and larger jigs are needed to maintain bottom contact. The stiffest tip of the three reduces the flutter amplitude of the jig but handles heavier weights reliably.

EV710MXB Casting · 7'10" · M · XF action

Lightest model, suitable for shallower water slow jigging (under 100–150 ft) or lighter Rock Rover jig weights. The 15 lb braid floor still implies PE#1 or heavier, so this is outside the light-line setup lane; it is simply the most responsive of the three.
