The Emblem Pro Surf is Daiwa's mid-range graphite surf series, positioned between the budget fiberglass Beefstick and more expensive tournament-grade surf rods. It fits anglers fishing Gulf Coast and Atlantic beaches for redfish, pompano, black drum, whiting, and stripers using bait, heavy lures, and combination rigs. Fits both newcomers and regular surf anglers who want capable gear without premium pricing. Blanks are lightweight graphite in a two-piece 50/50 split, which distinguishes it from the Beefstick's solid fiberglass construction.
Split EVA grips reduce weight; the hooded reel seat is ergonomic and corrosion-rated for saltwater. Guides use aluminum oxide or SeaGuide Zirconia inserts depending on model. The graphite blank delivers enough sensitivity to detect bites in surf noise while being forgiving enough for inexperienced casters. Action is moderately soft compared to dedicated distance-surf rods. Eight models run from a short 7' ML spinning (EMP701MLFS) through 8' M, 9' M, 10' MH to full 11' H and 12' H/XH configurations, plus an 11' MH casting rod.
The progression from 7' to 12' maps logically to fishing distance and target size. The 7' and 8' models serve as wade-fishing or close-quarters jetty tools; the 9'–10' rods are standard beach tools; the 11'–12' models handle distance casting for larger baits. One 12' XH casting model (EMP1202XHFB) with 25–50 lb line and 5–10 oz lure rating covers heavier drag applications including large cut-bait rigs for big drum.

Shortest and lightest in the series. Functions as a wade-fishing, jetty, or pier tool instead of open surf. The 6–14 lb line rating and ML power suit light jig-and-bait combos for trout, whiting, or small redfish at close range.
Conventional casting model at 11 ft. Paired with the spinning 11' MHFS as an alternative rod-and-reel pairing option, conventional reel for those using levelwind for distance and drag control on larger species.
The heavy-end outlier. Conventional casting configuration at 12 ft XH with 5–10 oz lure rating is built for distance bait-casting for bull reds, large drum, and sharks using circle hooks and cut or whole baits. Requires a round-profile conventional reel.
