Emblem Surf 2021

Mid-tier surf series, 8'–12', for bait and lure fishing from sand and jetty with refined guides over entry-level Daiwa.

The Daiwa Emblem Surf (relabeled Emblem Pro Surf in the US market for the 2021 generation) is a mid-tier surf series made for serious beach anglers who want more refinement than the entry-level Emcast but do not require a premium blank. Built for sand and jetty fishing along the Gulf Coast, Atlantic, and Pacific coasts, made for striped bass, drum, whiting, and similar surf species. Both bait-soaking and hard lure techniques are supported across the lineup, the MH/H models handle chunk rigs; the M models work lighter plugs and metals.

Blank is lightweight graphite with a fast action taper and 50/50 two-piece split. Guides use corrosion-resistant frames with aluminum oxide or SeaGuide Zirconia inserts depending on model, an upgrade over the Emcast's standard AO inserts. EVA split grip and an ergonomic hooded reel seat are shared with the Emcast but fitted with better tolerances. The primary differentiation over the Emcast at the same price tier is guide quality and blank refinement; field experience shows similar casting distances between the two lines but slightly better sensitivity in the Emblem.

Eleven models: nine spinning and two casting (MHFB suffix). Lengths span 8'–12" across M, MH, and H power. The lone casting model pair (EMBLM1002MHFB at 10' and EMBLM902HFB at 9') covers conventional reel users. Spinning coverage from 8'–12' in M and MH is the core of the lineup; the single 12' MH spinning model is the distance option. The 8' M and MH spinners cover close-range jetty and wade fishing.

Model notes

2 of 11 models
EMBLM902HFB Casting · 9' · H · F action

The heavier of the two casting models, H power at 9' with a 1–10oz lure range covers heavy sinker rigs and large metals for conventional reel users. Well suited to fishing in wind where spinning tackle loses distance.

EMBLM1202MHFS Spinning · 12' · MH · F action

Longest model and the series distance tool, 12' MH spinning is the target for anglers chasing casting distance on open beach. The lure range extends to 8oz, practical for sinker-and-bait rigs beyond the typical surf break.
