Emeraldas AIR IL

The interline version of the high-end AIR platform. On an interline rod the braid enters at the butt, travels inside the blank and leaves through the tip ring, so the line has nothing to wrap around. Eging produces slack after every jerk, and in a crosswind or in the dark that slack finds a conventional guide within a few casts; the interline layout removes the failure entirely and also strips the guide frames out of the airstream, which raises swing speed on the cast. Daiwa treats the bore with a super water-repellent dry finish so droplets do not bead inside the blank and drag on the line, the main practical objection to interline rods. Six two-piece models run 7'3" to 8'6" and 78 to 91 g, rated for egi from 1.8号 to 4.0号 on the Japanese scale of roughly 3 cm of egi body per 号, with PE 0.4 to 1.0 line. Blank technology matches the outguide AIR rods: SVF Nanoplus carbon, X45 bias wrap against blank twist under load, V-Joint alpha ferrules and an Air Sensor carbon reel seat. The 73M at 7'3" and 78 g is the short, close-quarters option for jetties and boulder ground; the 86M covers open shoreline at standard 8'6" length.
