MX is the mid tier of the Emeraldas shore range, under AIR and Stoist and above the entry-level X. Ten two-piece models run 7'5" to 8'9" and 93 to 110 g, roughly 15 g heavier than the equivalent AIR rods, with the difference sitting in the carbon: MX uses HVF Nanoplus rather than the SVF grade above it. The rest of the structural package carries over, including X45 bias carbon at plus and minus 45 degrees to stop the blank twisting when an egi is jerked hard off-axis, V-Joint ferrules and an Air Sensor carbon reel seat, here paired with a carbon monocoque rear grip that passes vibration through the hand rather than through foam. Egi ratings span 1.8号 to 4.5号. The 号 scale sizes egi by body length at about 3 cm per unit, so this covers roughly 55 to 135 mm of lure, from small autumn squid to spring fish over two kilos. Line ratings are PE 0.4 to 1.2. Four models are offered in matched pairs, 86ML and 86ML-S, 86M and 86M-S, where the -S versions substitute a Mega Top carbon solid tip for the tubular one; the solid loads under a lighter take and suits anglers watching the tip through the fall rather than feeling it through the line.
