Emeraldas Stoist RT

RT stands for Racing Tune and is the sharper of the two flagship Stoist shore platforms, set against the softer Stream Tune ST. The technique both serve is eging: a weighted artificial shrimp called an egi is cast, then driven forward in hard upward strokes of the rod and allowed to sink on a slack line. Bigfin reef squid take on that sink, so the blank has to snap the egi cleanly and then recover fast enough that a bite arriving as a faint tick is not lost in residual wobble. RT is built around that first job. Seven two-piece models run 7'6" to 8'8" and weigh 79 to 87 g, which is light for rods of this length. Egi ratings span 1.8号 to 4.5号 on the Japanese sizing scale, where one 号 equals about 3 cm of egi body, putting a common 3.0号 egi at roughly 90 mm and 15 to 20 g. Line ratings are PE 0.4 to 1.2, braid being standard in eging because it telegraphs the fall and carries the jerk to the lure without stretch. Blanks use SVF Compile-X Nanoplus with X45 Full Shield bias carbon to resist twist under a hard jerk, V-Joint alpha at the ferrule and CWS carbon wrapping at the guide feet. Guides are AGS carbon frames on an Air Sensor carbon reel seat. No model in the lineup carries a solid-tip designation.
