Gekkabijin RX

The mebaru arm of RX, which sits below MX and above the base Gekkabijin line. Daiwa's stated brief was response rather than outright lightness: the blank is designed from a new mandrel to raise tension through the tip section, and the balance point is deliberately shifted rearward so the rod can be held upright and shaken without wrist fatigue. The rear separate grip section uses a woven carbon cross pipe to do it. Construction is HVF Nanoplus carbon with X45 bias reinforcement, MegaTop solid carbon tips on the solid models, a Fuji IPS reel seat reshaped to an oval profile for more palm contact, and spigot ferrules. Mebaring, the discipline these rods serve, is a night fishery for Japanese rockfish that ambush from under lights and off weed lines, and it is fished with small plugs, 1 to 2.5 g jigheads and, at range, float rigs. The lineup reflects that progression: 68L-T at 2.03 m for 2 g class plugs and jigheads at close quarters, 74UL-S at 2.24 m as the softer loading model for 1 g plugs, 75L-T at 2.26 m as the general model, and 84M-T at 2.54 m and 98 g as the float and Carolina rig rod for open coast and rock. Ratings span 0.3 to 5 g up to 2 to 15 g on PE 0.1 to 0.6. Mebaru models carry a red colorway.
