Gekkabijin RX Ajing

The ajing side of RX, sharing the mebaru model's high-modulus HVF Nanoplus blank, X45 reinforcement, rear-weighted balance, woven carbon cross pipe in the rear grip and oval Fuji IPS seat, but distinguished by a gold colorway and by model spacing tied to jighead weight. Daiwa lists the 54UL-S and 510UL-S as 0.5 g rods, the 64UL-S as a 1.0 g rod and the 64L-S as a 1.5 g rod, with the 710ML-T at 2.39 m and 90 g reserved for casting Carolina and float rigs to offshore breaks. Weights start at 56 g and ratings run 0.3 to 5 g on the ultralight models up to 1.5 to 10 g, on PE 0.1 to 0.5. That gram-by-gram laddering is what ajing demands: an aji feeding on plankton sucks a 1.5 inch plastic in and ejects it in well under a second, and often the only evidence is the lure going weightless. MegaTop solid carbon tips are fitted to the S models and do the detection work, since a solid section can be drawn to a finer diameter than a hollow tube of the same strength and will therefore bend under a load too small to travel down the blank. The 710ML-T uses a tubular tip, trading that sensitivity for the backbone to move heavier rigs at distance.
