Harrier

The Daiwa Harrier is a slow-pitch jigging (SPJ) rod series designed for vertical jigging with metal jigs using the deliberate, fluttering-fall 'slow pitch' technique. Target species are bottom and mid-column dwellers, amberjack, grouper, snapper, halibut, and yellowtail, in the Northeast, Southeast, and Gulf of Mexico fisheries. The technique demands a blank that loads and unloads rhythmically during the jig cycle instead of maximizing stiffness, distinguishing SPJ rods from standard high-speed jigging sticks.

Built on HVF Nanoplus Carbon blanks with Daiwa's X45 Bias Construction to minimize blank twist under cyclic load. Fuji FazLite K-Guides are virtually tangle-free, important during the vertical jigging lift-drop sequence. Minimalistic EVA split grip is deliberately short to keep the rod's action free through the full blank from tip to butt, which is a functional SPJ requirement, outside the cosmetic one lane. 1-piece construction. 5-year limited warranty.
