The Daiwa Harrier Jigging is a saltwater vertical jigging series designed for anglers made for bottom-dwelling and mid-water species from boat, rockfish, lingcod, halibut on the Pacific Coast, and bottom fish across Gulf and Atlantic fisheries. The series covers flutter jigs, knife-style jigs, and traditional treble-hook jigs with a range of jig weights from roughly 40g to 180g depending on model. Both casting (conventional) and spinning models are included across two rod lengths.
Blanks are built on Daiwa's HVF carbon with X-45 bias fiber wrapping, which adds resistance to torsional twist during load, a characteristic that matters when pumping heavy jigs from depth. Fuji K-guides with Alconite rings provide tangle-free line management, important when working braided line vertically. Rod weights run light for the category at MSRP around $120, positioning the series below premium jigging alternatives. No specific guide count or blank weight data is confirmed in available sources.
Fourteen models organize into two length groups, 6'4" and 7', each offering ML, M, MH, and H power ratings in both spinning and casting formats. The 6'4" models suit boat fishing with shorter strokes; 7' models add leverage for deeper water and heavier jigs. Power progression runs ML (30–40 lb line, ~40–120g jig) through H (50–80 lb line, ~90–180g jig), allowing anglers to match rod to target depth, jig weight, and species size.

A closer look at notable models.
Maximum power in the compact casting format. Built for large halibut or heavy jig work at depths where the stroke length of a 7' rod would be impractical.
Spinning counterpart to the HRJ64HB. High-power spinning jigging suits anglers who prefer spinning tackle for vertical jig work in heavy-tackle applications.
Lightest power in the 6'4" casting group. Suited for lighter jigs and moderate depths, rockfish and smaller bottom species where a stiffer blank would be unnecessary.
Heavy-power 7' caster for deep-water applications and largest target species. Extra length over the 6'4" H model adds leverage when working heavy jigs and fighting powerful fish.
Seven-foot M-power casting entry, the most versatile configuration for general offshore jigging where extra rod length aids jig animation and hook-up ratios at depth.
