The core Heartland series, Daiwa Japan's long-running bass family. It began in 1997 and remains tied to Haruhiko Murakami, credited as supervisor on six of the current models. It sits directly below Heartland AGS: the same design lineage and much of the same structural carbon, without the Air Guide System carbon guides or the SVF graphite grade.
Twelve rods, five spinning and seven baitcasting, all two-piece with a center-cut joint, from 6'10" to 8'0". Blanks use HVF Nanoplus, a high-density graphite sheet built with Toray nanoalloy resin, wrapped with X45 and X45 Full Shield bias carbon and supported by the 3DX honeycomb structure. V-Joint ferrules are built to bend like a one-piece blank through the joint. Tubular Power Slim describes the thin-walled dense-graphite casting blanks, MegaTop solid carbon tips appear on the ST-suffix models, and Air Sensor carbon reel seats are used on part of the lineup.
The spinning side is finesse-biased, from a 7'0" ultralight rated 1/48 to 3/16 oz on 1.5 to 4 lb line through a 7'7" ML+ at 3/32 to 3/8 oz. Baitcasters run 1/16 to 3/8 oz up to a 7'5" heavy at 3/8 to 1 oz, with an 8'0" MH for longer casts. Rod weights fall between 80 and 165 g. For an American angler, the useful comparison is a premium domestic bass series shifted shorter, lighter, and further toward light-line technique work.
