Iprimi (イプリミ) is Daiwa's accessible area trout series, built for the managed-pond fishery (エリアトラウト) where anglers cast 0.4 to 3 g spoons, small crankbaits and bottom baits to stocked rainbow trout on 1.5 to 6 lb line. The ten models run 1.68 m to 1.99 m (5'6" to 6'6"), weighing 59 to 78 g. Hardware is chosen for line safety rather than exotic materials: all-SiC K-guides on stainless frames, whose sloped frame shape sheds the loops and tangles that plague 1.5 lb nylon, plus a TVS reel seat. The blank uses Braiding X, a carbon tape wrapped in an X pattern over the butt section to suppress twist during casting and rod work. Cosmetics are a black blank with orange accents. Most of the lineup sits at 0.6 to 3 g and 1.5 to 3 lb across the XUL and UL models, which is the core spoon window; 56XXUL-S drops to 0.4 to 2.5 g for the lightest presentations, while 62ML at 0.8 to 5 g and 64ML at 1.5 to 7 g cover crankbaits and heavier bottom lures. The two -S models, 56XXUL-S and 65L-S, use solid tips. 60XUL-4 is a four-piece version of the 60XUL that packs to roughly 50 cm, which is why it turns up in the hands of anglers travelling to ponds by train.
