Isla Inshore
Mid-tier inshore rod for Southern flats and bay species with HVF/X45 construction
An entry-to-mid tier inshore spinning and casting series from Daiwa made for Southern coastal species, redfish, speckled trout, flounder, snook, primarily in shallow water environments. The series suits anglers who fish Gulf or Southeast Atlantic flats, bays, and marshes with light jigs, soft plastics, and twitch baits. Built on Daiwa's HVF (High Volume Fiber) graphite using X45 bias wrap construction, which reduces blank twist under load and keeps the cross-section round.
Fuji Tangle Free K-guides with Fazlite rings on the casting models. The blank carries ruler markings for legal fish-length measurement, a practical inshore touch. Regular action throughout most of the lineup makes it forgiving for longer fights with lighter tippets; one spinning model (ISL76MHFS) gets a fast action. Seven rods: 7' and 7'6" lengths, ML through MH power, split across four casting and three spinning models.
The ISL70 casting models (MLRB, MRB, MHRB) cover the 6–17lb range in regular action for general inshore work. The ISL70 spinning models (MLRS, MRS) mirror the casting powers. The 7'6" MH spinning pair gives reach for longer casts from wading or open flats.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 7 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
2 of 7 modelsLight end of the casting lineup. Regular action and ML power make this the pick for ultra-light jig heads and small paddle tails on light fluorocarbon, trout and flounder in shallow grass beds.
The one fast-action outlier in an otherwise all-regular-action series. The added length and fast taper suit long-range presentations with heavier jigs or topwater, useful from wading positions on open flats where distance matters. No URL in source data; confirmed via Daiwa US product page context.
