Released in 2026, CGS sits above the EX AGS models as the current peak of the Morethan seabass line. The name is Carbon Grip System: the grip and reel seat are molded as a single hollow carbon structure rather than assembled from separate seat, foregrip and rear grip parts, which Daiwa rates at a 170 percent sensitivity gain over the conventional arrangement. Guides are AGS TYPE-0 carbon frames with elliptical rings, and the blank combines Toray M46X ultra-high-modulus carbon with SVF COMPILE-X Nano Plus, X45 Full Shield bias wrap, V-JOINT alpha ferrules and CWS carbon guide wrapping. Three two-piece spinning models cover the finesse-to-midrange band: 87LML at 2.64 m, 5-30 g, 108 g; 94ML at 2.84 m, 7-35 g, 124 g; and 97ML/M at 2.92 m, 7-40 g, 128 g. All three are rated PE 0.6-1.5. Sensitivity is the whole argument here because suzuki, the Japanese seabass, is largely a night fishery worked by feel: an angler swims a minnow or a vibration bait across a tidal seam at a river mouth or along a lit harbor wall and reads the drift, the moment the lure crosses the current edge, and a take that can arrive as a slack-line tick. American anglers will recognize the pattern from shore striper fishing. Lengths near nine feet buy line control over rock and wave, and the gram and PE ratings follow Japanese lure and braid labeling rather than ounces and pound test.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 3 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
