Super light jigging, the lightest discipline in the high-standard Outrage tier. SLJ uses 10 to 100 g jigs on PE 0.4 to 1.0 in shallow near-shore water for mixed bags, from grunt and sea bream to yellowtail, so the rods are rated by jig grams and a Japanese L, ML and M jig-window scale rather than the UL-to-XH power ladder. Daiwa standardized the windows across the line at L 10 to 60 g, ML 15 to 80 g and M 20 to 100 g. Eight models, six spinning and two conventional, run 6'0" to 7'1" (1.83 to 2.16 m) as two-piece rods joined at the butt, weighing 90 to 120 g, the lightest rods in the whole Outrage family. Three MT models use a Metal Top, a superelastic titanium alloy tip section, for bite detection that carbon cannot match. Three TG models use a full-length Mega Top solid blank. The 71MS is a 7'1" tubular casting specialist for jig heads, blade jigs and long presentations ahead of the boat. Blank material is HVF Nanoplus with X45, and spinning models carry the Air Sensor seat.
