Presso AIR AGS is the weight-reduction branch of Daiwa's Presso area trout family. Area trout (エリアトラウト) means managed stocked ponds: rainbow trout in still water, spoons from 0.4 to 3.5 g, small cranks and bottom baits, and 1 to 5 lb nylon. Eleven models cover 1.65 m to 1.85 m (5'5" to 6'1"), all two-piece, and the blanks weigh 40 to 52 g, with most spinning models under 46 g. Daiwa states the design target as a rod and reel pairing under 200 g total, which matters over a session of continuous casting and retrieving with 1 g lures. The blanks are SVF carbon under AGS carbon-frame guides, with X45 bias wrapping and V-JOINT ferrules, on the Zero Seat reel seat (Compact Fit on spinning models, Cavity Trigger on the baitcaster). Ratings run 0.4 to 3 g on 510XUL and 510UL, 0.6 to 4 or 5 g through 61L and 61ML, and 0.6 to 7 g on 55M-MT. Tip construction splits the lineup: 55L-S, 61L-S and 61ML-S use MEGA TOP carbon solid tips, 55M-MT uses a titanium alloy Metal Top, and the remainder are tubular. 61LB is the single baitcasting model at 1.5 to 5 g and 52 g. The -E models are tuned toward the lighter end of the range.
