Presso is Daiwa's Japanese area trout line, and LTD AGS sits at the top of it. Area trout (エリアトラウト) is the stocked-pond discipline: rainbow trout in managed still water fished with 0.4 to 3.5 g spoons, small crankbaits and bottom plugs on 1.5 to 6 lb nylon, at ranges a bass angler would consider trivial. The 16-model lineup runs 1.65 m to 1.98 m (5'5" to 6'6"), all two-piece, rated 0.4 to 7 g, with blanks weighing 62 to 70 g. Construction is SVF Nanoplus carbon under AGS carbon-frame guides, with X45 bias-cross wrapping against blank twist and V-JOINT ferrules that carry the bend through the joint. Daiwa also credits its ESS design system on this series. Tip choice organizes the lineup rather than length: the -S models carry MEGA TOP carbon solid tips for loading sub-gram spoons and registering soft takes, 55M-SMT uses the SMT titanium-alloy solid tip, 58L-G is built on an SVF Glass blank for cranking and steady retrieves, and 66ML adds 3DX. Powers ladder from XUL and UL at 0.4 to 3 g for microspoons, through L and ML at 0.6 to 4 or 5 g for the standard pond rotation, up to 61MF and 66ML at 1 to 6 g and 55M-SMT at 0.6 to 7 g for plugs and longer casts. This is a tournament-oriented series, not a general trout rod.
