Presso MX is the middle tier of Daiwa's Presso area trout line, positioned below LTD AGS and AIR AGS and above the entry-level Trout X AT. Area trout (エリアトラウト) is Japan's managed-pond fishery: stocked rainbow trout in still water, 0.4 to 3.5 g spoons, small crankbaits and bottom plugs, and 1 to 8 lb line. Ten models span 1.65 m to 1.98 m (5'5" to 6'6"), all two-piece, weighing 62 to 71 g. The blanks are HVF carbon with X45 bias-cross wrapping and V-JOINT ferrules, mounted on an Air Sensor carbon reel seat. MEGA TOP carbon solid tips appear on 55XUL-S and 62L-S; the rest of the lineup is tubular. AGS carbon-frame guides are not part of this series, which is the main hardware difference from the two Presso rods above it. Ratings start at 0.4 to 3 g on 60UL and 62UL+-E for microspoon work, cover the standard rotation at 0.6 to 4 or 5 g through the L and ML models, and reach 1 to 6 g on 62MF and 66ML. The 62MHF is the outlier at 2 to 10 g and 2 to 8 lb, a heavier action for large crankbaits, bottom plugs and reaching fish holding off the bank. That spread makes MX the broadest single Presso lineup by lure rating.
