The Daiwa Procyon Inshore is a mid-range saltwater inshore spinning and casting series made for welterweight species, speckled trout, redfish, snook, fluke, striped bass, in bay, estuary, and nearshore environments. It is a step above entry-level inshore rods in construction and component quality without reaching the premium tier. The target angler pursues southern and northeastern inshore species with a mix of soft plastics, jigs, and live bait under light to medium-heavy loads. Blanks use Daiwa's HVF Nanoplus graphite with X45 bias wrap, the same blank platform as higher-tier Daiwa inshore rods, making this series punch modestly above its retail price in sensitivity and resistance to blank twist.

Premium cork handles. Braid-ready Fuji guides. One-piece construction throughout. Regular (R) action across the entire lineup is a conscious design choice: the moderate-fast taper provides shock absorption on light-wire hooks and helps keep fish pinned during erratic runs, appropriate for speckled trout and fluke with single hook rigs. Nine rods: three casting, six spinning; lengths 6'8"–7'6". Both casting and spinning are available in identical power/length configurations, allowing matched pairs at MH 7'0" and MH 7'6".

Power range runs ML through MH, Light or heavy outliers is absent. The 6'8" spinning models are the shorter inshore-skiff end; the 7'6" casting and spinning (MH R) are the upper reach for longer presentations or heavier structure.

PCYN68MLRS Spinning · 6'8" · ML · R action

Shortest, lightest-power model. 6'8" ML regular at 1/8–1/2 oz serves finesse soft-plastic work, drop-shot, paddle tails, and light jig-heads for speckled trout in calm bays and shallow flats.

PCYN76MHRB Casting · 7'6" · MH · R action

The longest casting model. 7'6" MH with regular action at 12–20 lb extends reach for dock flipping, bridge fishing, or working larger lures around structure for snook and redfish in open-water scenarios.
