Proteus Win Camo

The Proteus WN Camo is Daiwa's mid-range nearshore saltwater boat rod series targeted at West Coast anglers pursuing a variety of inshore and nearshore species including yellowtail, lingcod, white seabass, and grouper. The marbleized camo Winn Grip handle wrap gives the series its name and visual identity. Target users are boat anglers who want a durable, comfortable rod that handles heavy lines and can be fished all day without fatigue. Blanks are built on HVF (High Volume Fiber) carbon with Daiwa's X45 bias-fiber construction, the diagonal carbon wrap minimizes torque and twist during hook-sets and fights.

Guides are Fuji FazLite tangle-free K-guides with a small footprint suited to braid management. The reel seat uses a Fuji Back Stop Lock Nut System. The signature grip wrap is Winn's Dri-Tac material, which provides a secure, non-slip surface when wet. All models are one-piece. A limited lifetime warranty is standard. The 16-model lineup covers casting (11 models) and spinning (5 models) from 7' to 8'10" in MH through XXH power, all with Fast action. Casting models dominate, running 7' through 8'10" in MH, H, XH, and XXH configurations.

Spinning models are labeled with the 'FS' suffix and extend to 8', running MH and H power. The PRWNC74XXHF (7'4" XXH casting) and PRWNC76XHF (7'6" XH casting) represent the stout end for applications like heavy calico bass or larger bottom-dwellers. MH/H 7'–8'10" casting models cover the broadest range of West Coast live-bait and iron work.
